The Halloween Fair was a Success

I had an intermittent glitch in the control circuit, so the eyes weren’t behaving themselves as well as I would have liked. They did move around a lot though, and that seemed to be enough for most kids.

I had great comments from them too.
One little girl said, “I want to be you for Halloween!”
Another asked what I was, and her friend responded, “I think he’s part unicorn, part bear, and part cotton candy.”

At one point, a gaggle of about 7 little girls (mostly in pink princess costumes) were standing a little way off and talking amongst themselves while occasionally glancing, gesturing, or staring at me. I waved. They waved back. I said, “You girls have beautiful costumes! Did you know pink was my favorite color?!” They all immediately ran over and started giving me group hugs. It was awesome.

Thanks go to my friend Owen, who helped make sure no children were crushed as I walked around without being able to see anything within 2 feet of me. Thanks also to everyone who took photos. So far, I only have one of the event, but I’m on the hunt for more!

I hand sewed snap closures on the seam of the feet, so I could get to the laces.

It could use a few minor improvements, but once I get some snap fasteners on the feet, I’m calling it ready to go!

Jill finished the suit! There were scraps remaining, but no “leftover” fabric.
Whew!

…and here I thought I got way too much fabric. Well, it should be possible to make me a full body suit out of this… right?

Q: What has two feet and a head, but no body? A: Bob the monster. Fortunately, my lovely and talented (and eager for me to be done building a monster suit) wife has generously offered to help me with the patterns and sewing.
